Our Plastic Free Markets aim to demonstrate that markets and events can be run sustainably without any single-use plastic. The events will help the public to reduce single-use plastics, by shopping with small businesses who don’t use any single-use plastics. Alongside these will be businesses who sell Plastic Free alternative products, e.g. shampoo bars, reusable water bottles, as well as offering refills on items such as staple goods (pasta/rice/lentils), cereals, herbs and spices, and cleaning products.

Our markets are leading the way in demonstrating sustainable events of the future

Our first market in April 2024 was sponsored by TravelMaster and was a fantastic success with over 400 attendees and over 30 stallholders. The ambition is to now to make it bigger.

Due to the increasing uncertainty of the UK weather, these events cannot be held outdoors, and so will be held indoors, significantly increasing the cost of being able to run an event. Therefore, we are seeking business sponsorship for our 3rd November market to help us to achieve our mission of running this event.
